The new University Center for the University of the Pacific is a 95,000-square-foot facility consisting of a two-story building that houses student social spaces, dining areas, a servery and kitchen, a large open event space, conference rooms, and a variety of other academic and social functions. The lower floor also includes 12,000 square feet of parking. The building features Gothic Ivy League architecture with a brick veneer exterior and a historical profile with 45-degree double-pitched slate roofs. The structural system is a steel frame with a combination of braced and moment frames. A variety of exposed and non-exposed steel roof trusses create open spaces with varying ceiling profiles.
